I want to send syslog errors to my SNMP server which works fine via:
snmp-server enable traps syslog
snmp-server host <ip> <string> syslog snmp
logging history errors
However while I see the exact error description in SYSLOG:
.Mar 8 10:03:14 UTC: %SPANTREE-2-BLOCK_BPDUGUARD: Received BPDU on port FastEthernet6/26 with BPDU Guard enabled. Disabling port.
.Mar 8 10:03:14 UTC: %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: bpduguard error detected on Fa6/26, put
ting Fa6/26 in err-disable state
This is what I get on the SNMP server:
1141808594 1 Wed Mar 08 10:03:14 2006 <device name> -BLOCK_BPDUGUARD;1 .126.96.36.199.188.8.131.52.184.108.40.206 0
and nothing more. The OID is:
but no info on which ports are blocked as seen in the syslog itself.
Is there a way to get this info via the syslog trap? I loaded the CISCO-SYSLOG-MIB onto the SNMP server but no change.
Any suggestions? Many thanks...
