I have Cisco 2800 Series router and wanted to configure ssh. When i give show ip ssh, it is giving me the version of ssh it is running. But when i give sh ssh, iam getting message NO SSH Server running. Which means the SSH is disabled.

When i give crypto key generate RSA. it is asking me the all the information and showing generating RSA and directly gives OK without generating any signatures.

Can some one adivce me how to rectify the problem. The same IOS is working fine for SSH on my other 2800 Series router.

Thanks in Advance

hi kjanakiraman,

You have to configure ssh on line vty 0 4 by this command "transport input ssh telnet"

Router(config)# username you-name password your password

Router(config)# crypto key generate rsa

Router(config)# line vty 0 4

Router(config-line)# login local

Router(config-line)# transport input ssh telnet
