Installing and Removing the Supervisor Engine for Catalyst 4500

Scroll down to the Supervisor Engine Notes section and locate your supervisor model.

If you have compact flash card, back up the configs and IOS to the flash card. Swap out the Supervisor, use the IOS and config on the compact flash card to boot the new Supervisor.

To be clear on my side - as i have never replaced a failed sup module before - i would take the following steps - i do have about 122 mb free on slot0:
copy bootflash: slot0:
cat4000-i5s-mz.122-25.EWA5.bin
copy bootflash: slot0:
running-config
Then - I should be able to hotswap the failed sup module with the new one.
copy slot0: bootflash:
cat4000-i5s-mz.122-25.EWA5.bin
copy slot0: bootflash:
running-config
Verify
Please advice - thanks

Hi Friend,
AFAIK to copy image from bootflash to slot0 and vice versa is ok but to copy config you muct run the command
copy config slot0:
