Hi,

I have a switch where I can find the exact same MAC Address on 3 different ports...(don't ask why, it is a long story!). I am trying to prove to the customer that this is an issue. What would the switch do with a packet targeted for that MAC Address ?

Thanks

the mac address learned on 3 different port must have been learned on 3 different ports belonging to three different vlans or the mac-addresses are multicast. If they are unicast mac-address there is no way, the switch will log a message that same mac address is learned on two different ports.
