Init wizard for CUE

Is it possible to re-run the Init wizard after its initialized once ? All I can see on the CLI is a command to skip the init wizard, if you want to manually configure the unit (expert users)...??

Also how can we factory reset a CUE module ? A write erase doesnt seem to do any good on the CUE module.

Hi,

you need to enter the following commands:

1. bring the module offline with the "offline" command

2. Enter the command "restore factory defaults" at the enable prompt of the CUE.

Note: all configurations and voice mails will be lost.

regards Ulrich

Though I have never tried to rerun the initialization wizard after the first time, the CUE docs state the following:

"the initialization wizard is the first screen to appear. You cannot activate it again except by reinstalling Cisco Unity Express software"

The only way to factory reset a CUE module is to use the "software install clean" command to reload the CUE software and then choose No when asked to keep the config saved in flash.

The doc for reinstalling CUE 2.2 software can be found at:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps5520/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00803ef6cb_4container_ccmigration_09186a0080540337.html#wp1122689

Look for the "installing new software image" section.

Ulrich,

Thats awesome. I took the module offline and then did a factory reset. (This is a lab CUE, so didnt bother taking a backup)

cue(offline)#restore factory defaults

This command will reload the CUE and when it comes back online, you are prompted with

Once you go through this procedure, you can browse to the ip address of the CUE to run the init wizard.
