hey,
im attempting to do a redundant solution for one of my customers. at present he has a 3640 ip base router. he has both a fram link and a vpn failover as his redundancy at present. we are building on it to provide VVRP serivces etc. i know the 3640 is EOL and am thinking of replacing it. i see that the upgrade path is a 3700 series but im thinking that might be a little overkill.
im thinking a 2800 series, more specifically, 2821 with IP PLUS. his furture requirements will be to do VOIP.
i know this is very gerneral question but any suggestions will be most welcome.
thanks in advance

Hi
Before sticking on with a particular Cisco series which is 2821 in this case do check out the connectivity you are going to have in the location where you are going to place this router and also the ports/modules required to support the connectivity.
once you are done with the physical connectivity part you can think off about the features you need to have in place.
This will help you to draw comparison between the requirements with the features the box offers.
