Cisco Security device manager (SDM) authentication fails

when i tried to install SDM on cisco2611 router it is asking for username & password of level 15 so configured a local user of level 15 on the router & provided the same creditentials to SDM installer but the authentications fails can any body pls clarify wht to do in this situation

A couple of things I've experienced installing SDM.

Make sure you don't have a firewall running on the PC attempting to install SDM from.

Set "line vty 0 15" to "login local" after you've set a userID and password.

Set "IP HTTP AUTH LOCAL".

I believe that SDM typically sets privilege level 15 on the vty. You might try that and see if it helps.

hi jeff,

there is no firewall in between or running on PC

and i tried your recomendationd but it did not work out.

is it any thing with the version of IOS, BTW i am using c2600-is-mz.12.2-34
