hello,

what is mean by: Gateway of last resort is 172.16.1.2 to network 0.0.0.0??? i see this statement in routing table when using default-information origin...why this command is used...

it means it indicationg default route to 172.16.1.2....or is it like the packet which doesent match any thing will send out to 172.16.1.2........

regards

Devang

Devang,

That simply means that any packet whose destination address does not match a specific route in the routing table will be sent to 172.16.1.2. So it's essentially where all packets matching the default route are sent.

Pls do remember to rate posts that help.
