Does anyone have experience installing a second(redundant) Sup IV module in a 4507R? Do you remember the steps?

1. Install engine (Hot install or is it better to turn off switch)

2. Configure Switch for redundant operations.

3. Configure for auto-sync or manual sync enginge

4. Is good for IOS versions to match?

How long did it take to complete installation? How much downtime, if any?

Answers to these question or a rough outline would be great

a redundant sup can be installed into the 4507 hot-Swappable. the switch does not have to be powered down.

depending on the configuration of your switching/routing environment, the steps can be quite a few.

when both sups are installed and configured properly, they will synchronize automatically.

IOS must match between sups for proper redundant configuration.
