I have a 3845 router that I need to connect up to my Disaster Recovery Site. They want to drop 2 DS1s to us. What type of interface do I need?

Typically a DS-1 (T-1) is handed off as RJ-45 (Pins 1,2 and 4,5). In some cases the T-1 is handed off to a third party CSU/DSU that will hand off as V.35 (1536kbps if ESF or 1544kbps if D4 framing)...Good Luck.. Please rate..

The 3845 has 4 WIC slot available on the main board. You can use two T1 DSU/CSU card (2 WIC slots) or buy a dual controller card (1 WIC slot). If you go with the controller card, don't worry about the DI (drop & insert). These cards have an RJ45 connector to run to the Telco smart jack. You'll then want to bundle them in a PPP multilink interface.
