Hi,

I have a doubt about basic terms on VOIP. It would like to know which would be the difference between Tie Trunk and Tie Line, therefore for me both mean the same thing.

Thanks for attention of all.

A trunk (tie-line) is a permanent point-to-point communication line between two voice ports

Thanks for the reply, but this reply for me only explains what's a trunk and don't explains the difference between the Trunk (Tie Trunk) and a Tie Line.

If you have a answer more objective, reply me.

Thanks for the attention.

Hi ,

TIE LINE:

+ A survey line that connects a point to other surveyed lines.

+ A dedicated telecommunications circuit between two points.

+ Private line communications channel provided by communications carriers that link two or more points together.

TIE TRUNK:

+ A trunk between two branch exchange installations.

hope this solves your query
