Router Getting choked...

1841 series Router getting hangged every 3 to 4 hours and after restart it works fine. the isp link is fine. when hanged it stops pinging to the local gateway. CPU processes and traffic is good. any solutions plz .....

It sounds like it could be a memory depletion problem. Try doing a show mem every hour or so to see if the pool of available memory is going down. If so, then you should search the bug database for any such bugs in your IOS version.

Are you doing nat on this device? That might be a cause. If so, try looking at some of the timeouts on the connections and the number of users that you are trying to nat. If not, sounds like the image and config you are using is causing a memory leak. Try upgrading the image to see if that corrects the issue. Hope this helps.

To me it may be a memory problem as my friend has already posted. If u are able to plot mrtg graph of memory which is refreshed every 15 minutes or 30 minutes then it will give you a good idea of what is going around. You may see gradual increase in memory utillization after 2-3 hrs which may cause this issue after reaching its threshold.
