CPU utillization

Hi,

Last time when I migrated FEinterface to POS interface the CPU utilization went very high. Cisco opinion is " High CPU utilization is due to dCEF being disabled. Looking at the logs, high rate of interface flaps and BGP updates caused the IPC cache to be depleted thus affecting the communication between the RSP and VIP.

Router was reloaded and everything is back to normal"........... Cisco is not confirm, whether to go for FE to POS migration? If any comment or suggestion will be helpful.

The CPU utilization depends on the typr of SDM prefer that have chosen.

If the SDM prefer is desktop then the issue is due to software forwarding.

To avoid this configure "SDM prefer routing" .

or the issue may be due to IGMP Snooping. So disable IGMP snooping.
