We have 7200 VXR router running with the cisco ios version 12.0(7)T. It gave me the error message like "System returned to ROM by error - a Software forced crash" after hard reset it started working. I want to know the reason why is this symptom or is this because of configuration problem or ios bug.
If it's "System returned to ROM by error - a Software forced crash" then there must be a crashinfo file or there must be stack (show stack). you need to open a TAC case so they can decode the stack to determine if the crash is s/w or h/w caused.
Is there a reason you're running that old of IOS code? I've upgraded many 7206's and they always seem to have problems. Normally is when reading the flash. However, once they're up they rarely have problems.
