We have an Avaya Communication Manager 3.1 on S8710 servers in the U.S. and we have a Cisco CallManager 4.1 in Europe. What would be the best way to set up 'trunks' between the two systems so we can call back and forth between the Avaya system in the U.S. and the Cisco system in Europe? SIP trunks? Any documentation out there on how to configure in both systems?...tips, etc?

We used to have a Avaya Definity integrated with our Call Manager via a "line side" PRI from the Definity to a Cisco router. That router was setup as an H.323 gateway in Call Manager. Maybe this link will help:

Thanks. I'll check it out. If anyone else knows of any other info out there or has any input, feel free to chime in :)

I looked at that document. That appears to be for setting up a T1 that directly connects the two systems together. That's not what I'm wanting to do. I believe in the CallManager we had as a pilot awhile back, I set up a SIP trunk group that connected over the WAN/LAN to (in this case) an Asterisk server. What I think I'd like to do is do the same thing, but have the Avaya system on the other side instead of the Asterisk. I don't have that CCM that we were piloting anymore, so I can't fiddle around with it to test :(

Hi
You can set up a H323 trunk between the two systems:

I've had some success with this.
