not clear with ur question, can u explain in clear?

If I understand you correcly, you want to copy the runnin config of the 2800 to the 2600 via the TFTP.

This can be done in two steps.

1. Copy the config from the 2800 to the TFTP with he command

copy running-config tftp

You will be prompted for the IP address of the TFTP server and filename to be used to save the config.

2. Copy the running config from the TFTP to the 2600 using the command

copy tftp running-config.

Again you will be prompted for the IP address and the filename. Ensire you supply the same filename used in step 1.

Having said these, note that not all commands on the 2800 will be supported on the 2600 (often because of difference in IOS). Also, the interfaces might not match. So you might get a number of errors while copying the config to the 2600.

Hi

Almost definatley not - basically the config file is just all the commands you see when you do a show run in a text file...

The interface name conventions and numbers will be different on the 2800 - e.g. instead of FastEthernet 0/1 it may be FastEthernet0/0/1... so when the config is loaded the interface config won't be applied...

The best way would be to open the config file in wordpad and manually paste the bits you need into your terminal emulator connected to the new router.

Hi

I would like to add...beware of interface mismatches. The interface in your 2801 may be different then those of 2620.

In case you are able to edit the running config using a notepad and change the interface correctly, then you can simply copy whole config and paste it 2620's "Router(config)#"
