Upgrading from PIX 7.0(1) to 7.2(1)

I'm reading the release notes for 7.2(1) but it has a lot of errors (keeps referring to 7.1 instead of 7.2). My question is - can I go straight from 7.0(1) to 7.2(1) and do I need to upgrade ASDM first? (currently running 5.02). Is it a matter of just replacing the two .bin files and rebooting (like with the older versions) or do I need to do something else?

Thanks in advance!

you probably won't have enough flash for two images and an ASDM.

1. delete asdm image - "delete flash:/asdm..."

2. copy tftp flash:

3. change config to "boot system flash:/pix721.bin"

4. reload

5. if that's ok then remove old image - "delete flash:/pix70x.bin"

6. tftp new asdm

7. change config to "asdm image flash:/asdm.bin"

You can go 7.0(x) to 7.2(1). I'd upgrade PIX image first from CLI. Make sure boot pointer is correct.

So I'm going to:

1. replace the PIX .bin

2 change the config to "boot system flash:/pix721.bin"

3. reload

4. replace the ASDM .bin

5. reload

Correct?

Thanks!
