Router uBR7246VXR PCI messages

Hi


I have a router uBR7246VXR with IOS 12.3(17a)BC1

when I issue the "show version" command I get a messages


show version

cisco uBR7246VXR (NPE400) processor (revision A) with 110592K/20480K bytes of memory.

....

....

....

PCI bus mb0_mb1 has 874 bandwidth points

PCI bus mb2 has 0 bandwidth points

WARNING: PCI bus mb0_mb1 Exceeds 600 bandwidth points

....

....


Any ideas what its mean ???

In 7200VXR routers you have two buses. Each bus has so called "bandwidth points" budget of 600. Each port adapter inserted into router has bandwidth points requirements, i.e. it takes some of the bandwidth points out of the budget.


You have put all your port adapters onto single bus and have overloaded it, while other bus is empty. All you need is to rearrange port adapters so they occupy evenly both buses.
