i looking for a tool that will let me view the kind of traffic is being passed through my 1700 routers to my ASA on vpn tunnels. we are seeing that bandwidth is peeked but can not find out where it is coming from, i have set up captures on the asa but that is not showing me usage. i was looking at the netflow products but see that they are no longer in production. any help would be appreciated

i currently use MRTG but need to see what kind of traffic it is and the volume so i do not think something like ethereal will give me a good idea where it is coming from

Hi,

If you just need to tie traffic volume to IP addresses then IP accounting should help you with that.

As to netflow - there are plenty of products (both free and paid-for) that are still available.

Netflow partners are here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/products_ios_itd_partnership_program0900aecd800ba57b.html

and a load of freeware tools are here:

HTH - please rate if it does,

Andrew.
