Is it possible to apply an egress (or ingress?) service policy on a 7200 FastEthernet subinterface? - i.e.

interface FastEthernet0/1.10

encapsulation dot1q 10

ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

service-policy output WAN-Policy

!

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

in principle yes. It depends however on what you would like to do in the policy-map. As logical interfaces have no HW queue, queueing is not possible afaik. You could however apply marking, shaping and policing. It should also be possible to use a nested policy, i.e. shape to a specific rate and apply a second policy-map doing the fancy queueing.

Hope this helps! Please rate all posts.
