Is there any way getting the "beep" or "silence" ring type for 7960?

Thanks

We have had this request similar to this, silence for MOH, and I believe this would work for ring tones as well.

Use an audio program (like GoldWave - free download for evaluation)http://www.goldwave.com

to open a current ringtone from CCM.

Modify the audio to have no sound, or just a beep every few seconds and save under a different file name with the same properties (PCM, 16 bit, mono).

Load this file into the TFTPPath directory on the publisher.

Modify the RingList.xml file in TFTPPath to include the new ring tone.

Restart TFTP service of the publisher.

This should provide the new ring tone in the standard ring list for your users.

Note: Be sure to test it on all phone types in your cluster as we have had to perform some fine tuning on the duration, audio file length, etc.

Hope that helps.

if you need/want a 'new' ring tone, you can create one yourself.

you'll need to do the following:

1) create a custom ring PCM file

2) edit the ringlist.xlm file on tftp server

3) upload new PCM file(s) to your tftp server

please see the following link for creating custom rings tones:

Greg:

Looks like we posted our replies at about the same time - we both were going down the same path... so that confirms that what I was thinking works for ring tones, too.

Thanks.
