GSS Communication with CSS

Hi Gilles,

How do GSS communicates with the CSS.Is it through APP-UDP session ?.Is there any configuration to be gone on GSS to communicate with CSS.Please do the needful in assisting this query.

The GSS does not always need to communicate with the CSS.

It depends on the kind of probe you configure.

If you configure icmp or tcp probes, the GSS will just use a ping or a TCP SYN to check that a destination is alive.

Only when using kal-ap probes, will the GSS communicate with the CSS.

The protocol being used is APP-UDP as you said.

Thanks for the info for the earlier question.I need information about configuring the Shared keepalives.The shared keepalive ip address has to be in CSS network or GSS network if there is no common network between CSS and GSS.

For example.

GSS-------Router-----CSS

GSS-10.1.1.0/24

CSS-10.2.1.0/24

in this scenario for kal-ap via vip probes what should i configure for shared keepalive.

it must the CSS circuit ip address.

It does not matter if there is a router in between. You just have to make sure that this address is reachable from the GSS.

On the CSS, you need to configure app udp using the the GSS ip address.

Again, make sure the address is reachable from the CSS.
