pn log agent - ACS appliance and CSMARS

Has anyone used the pn log agent for ACS to send stuff to MARS? It's a w32 app that has to be installed on the ACS server but AFAIK you can't install software on the solution engine like you can on a vanilla server based ACS. Does this mean that Windows server based ACS can be integrated with CSMARS and appliances cannot???

Found the answer to my question in the doc on pp278 or 14-3 in the CSMARS user guide. Doh.. It's a workaround to relay through another box. Yea more chutes and ladders.
