We have 2 separate installs of CSA; one for Servers and one for Workstations. We want to combine the hosts on both instances into one MC on a single server for economies of scale and to free up needed resources. Both CSAs are running 5.0.0.191, what is the most effecient way to merge the 2 CSA instances into one, without having to perform a agent re-install on any devices?

Please, unless you point out the exact page the answer is on and can add any additional info that isn't covered by the manual, then these posts are NOT helpful. The user guide you linked to isn't even for the right version he's asking about.

I've been lead to believe that you can't export the agents from one MC and import it back into another MC. Under this assumption, I would say that your quickest migration path is to reinstall the Server's agent kits from the MC you're using for desktop agents (since you most likely have less servers than desktops).
You can however export all of your Groups, Policies, Modules, Sets, Query settings, etc. from your Server MC and re-import on the Desktop MC.
