APs are not able to serve DHCP to clients any differently than other IOS devices. To do this, you will need to define the DHCP pool on the AP, then if the AP IP is on a different vlan than the users will be, you need to set up an IP helper address on the router pointing to the IP of the AP.

If you're not using VLANs, you just need to give your AP an IP in the range you want to assign IPs from, then define the dhcp pool. For example, if you were trying to use 172.60.0.0/16 You would give the AP an IP (172.16.0.2 for innstance) and do the following config:

!exclude first 2 IPs from DHCP

ip dhcp excluded-address 172.16.0.1 172.16.0.2

ip dhcp pool test

network 172.16.0.0 255.255.0.0

default-router 172.16.0.1

dns-server x.x.x.x
