A rookie looking for some help!!

My first question is:

1. Can someone suggest a network Management software that will allow me to see and and configure my Cisco 4506 switch utilizing a GUI?

2. Would someone be so kind and assist me with how to configure a port for montioring using Telnet?

Hi,

using CiscoView available in CiscoWorks would allow you to configure Cisco devices through a graphical GUI. Whether you can justify the cost for such a NMS is a different story.

To configure a monitoring port (SPAN) follow the configuration guide: "Configuring SPAN and RSPAN"
