6500 IOS Modularity

If I try to install a file I get,'Not enough free memory to perform this installation at this time.

Please try again later after freeing some memory.'

Which memory does it mean? Flash or RAM?

Runnning 512MB MSFC/Supervisor but only 256MB Flash right now.

Hi Shamilton,

When you try to load the image it goes into bootflahh and when you boot that image then that image get copied into DRAm and switch boot from that image.

So when you are saying you are installing the image are you trying to copy the image into bootflash and if you get error doing this task its is talking abot flash which is bootflash.

No it's RAM.

And if you don't reload after the command has failed, then within a day your system crashes :(

Waiting for an engineer to reach the site and hard cycle the chassis...
