Syslog Messages

I have the following set up on one of the switches here a Cat 6509 now running Cisco IOS.

Syslog logging: enabled (0 messages dropped, 18 messages rate-lim

, 0 overruns)

Console logging: level debugging, 2189 messages logged

Monitor logging: level debugging, 460 messages logged

Buffer logging: level debugging, 2255 messages logged

Exception Logging: size (4096 bytes)

Count and timestamp logging messages: disabled

Trap logging: level informational, 1776 message lines logged

Logging to a.a.a.a, 1776 message lines logged

When I go to CiscoWorks, Through

CiscoWork>RME>Syslog Analysis,

I do not get anything.

Please help.

When it use to run CatOS I could see these messages.

Can you check the syslog.log (Windows) or syslog_info (Solaris) file to see if the messages are making it to the log file?

If they aren't then there's a problem with syslog on the device or in the network.

If they messages are in the log file, then go to RME and make sure that the device is managed in the inventory.

If it is, then try to run a standard report to see if the messages appear.
