I have a 851 K9 connected to a cable modem on the WAN side, and am using the internal DHCP server on the LAN side.
The LAN currently doesn't have a DNS server setup.
Without statically assigning a DNS server, or using a software program and outside source,
Is there any way to pass through the DNS information that is configured on the WAN port through the DHCP on the LAN side?
That way if the DNS servers change on the cable modem side they will automatically be propagated to the LAN side of the network.
Thank you for you assistance in advance,
Patrick

under the dhcp server pool enter the command
"import all"

I looked and that is already entered.
I am going to reset it to default and start again.
One thing I noticed was that unless I explicitly gave configured a DNS it wouldn't pass any DNS information. even to the default route's DNS.
I saw that in IOS 12.4 DNS View and DNS forwarding is possible.
Is there a corresponding command in 12.3. which is what I think this device has?
