Does anyone know if a 3845 router with voice cards can register with a remote CallManager as an H323 gateway, but register with the Gatekeeper as it's own zone - unrelated to the CallManager it is registered with?? I am trying to figure out how to do the QoS and CAC in a MPLS situation with any-to-any connectivity...
thanks,
anthony

The 3845 wont register to CCM, it can be added to CCM as H323 GW. CCM is not a GK.
It can of course register its own zone to a GK.
CCM way of doing CAC is Location based or using a GK.
Not sure what is your topology but im pretty sure this link will give you some ideas:

Thank you for the reply. Can the 3845 register with the Gatekeeper as it's own zone, or can only CallManager's register with a Gatekeeper??

Hi Anthony,
Yes the 3845 can register with its own zone with the GK and the CCM can register with other zone in the same GK ie:

That's great, thank you so much for the help. After reading thru these docs, it seems like if we are using MPLS with any-to-any connectivity and multiple (3-4) CM clusters but with each having Branch Offices hanging off of them, the idea is to use Locations off the CMs and GK's just for dialing resolution. (Boy that was a long sentence). Is that the general idea??
thanks,
anthony
