Smallest Catalyst for private VLAN's

Hi,

I need to know the smallest Model for implementing private VLANs. Support for this feature was implemented with IOS 12.2.14, but I've read in the forum here that a Catalyst 2960 doesn't support it. But there is IOS 12.2.25 for it available?! So what would be the smallest one? A Catalyst 3560?

Hi MB,

3560 will be the smallest switch that supports complete PVLAN.

Have a look at the switch matrix which supports PVLAN

Private VLAN is not support on a CAT2960 switch. The supported feature is ?Private VLAN Edge (Protected Port)?, which is a limited subset of the full Private VLAN feature.

Ah ok, so lets say I've got a 3560 with full support in Rack1 and there's my promiscous port, and in another 2960 in Rack2 with uplink to the primary vlan (in Rack1) where only isolated ports sit in. Should work, shouldn't it?

You are right. Smallest is Catalyst 3560. Not avalaible for 2960
