PIX 501 Config not saving
I have tried over and over and over again reseting back to default and it will not save the default. any ideas?

Are you trying to reset the config to default@factory default with basic config?
Try 'write erase' and confirm yes 'y'. Reboot the box - it will boot with factory basic config.

But the POST before should give the same results.

Try removing your dhcpd config with the NO command " No dhcpd enable" etc then do the wr erase.
I can not tell which Version IOS but also clear configure all then wr erase.
