Hi all, with a cisco pix, do you have to use nat, or no noat, cant you just pass traffic through them ?

Hi Carl,
On a Cisco Pix there are three ways to pass traffic from the inside interface to the other interfaces like DMZ/Outside.
A. Use NAT and ACls to permit the traffic from Lower security zone i.e outside/dmz to inside
B. Use Policy NAT to permit the traffic.
C. Use Self Static to represent the same subnet on the other interfaces.
Please let us know if you have some different question.

Hi , I bascially want to set my pix up with my broadband router at home, the broadband router is already doing the natting, so do I need to no nat any inside traffic and route outside to my router ?

Correct, You can do No Nat on the PIX or just use Self static and a combination of ACL's to allow this.
HTH,Please rate if it does.
