Hello,

I planed to upgrade the ASA5520, 512 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 4 Celeron 2000 MHz

Internal ATA Compact Flash, 64MB which met the minimum requirement to upgrade it, I installed the image asa721-k8.bin successfully but once I issued the command (boot system flash:/asa721-k8.bin) I got the error below :

INFO: Converting flash:/asa721-k8.bin to disk0:/asa721-k8.bin

ERROR: Unable to set this url, a maximum of 4 urls may be configured

Then, I installed the image asa722-k8.bin and again once I issued the boot command I got a different error:

INFO: Converting flash:/asa722-k8.bin to disk0:/asa722-k8.bin

ERROR: Unable to set this url, it has already been set Remove the first instance before adding this one.

Kindly advice what is the issue!!

Regards,

The process on the 525 was.

1. Delete ASDM to make space for the new image.

2. TFTP the new firmware into flash.

3. Remove the boot system flash:/

4. Add the boot system flash:/

5. Confirm with "show run | include boot"

6. Save config and reboot.

7. Delete flash:/old

8. TFTP new ASDM.

9. Remove the boot system flash:/ (if failover)

10. Add the boot system flash:/ (if failover)

11. Remove the asdm image flash:/

12. Add the asdm image flash:/

13. Save config and reload.

Hi

Issue the following command to remove the first instance:

no boot system flash:/

write mem

After saving, issue the command:

boot system flash:/asa721-k8.bin

This will take care of your problem.

cheers

Thanks this resolved my problem.
