GRE-IPSEC tunnel will not pass H.323

Hello, We run a hub and spoke IPSEC VPN setup for a client. We run GRE inside the IPSEC in order to pass OSPF. Tunnels work very well, including RDP, etc., but will not pass an H.323 voice session. VPN is router-to-router, 1711 on one end, 2611 on the other. IOS is 12.3(1a) on 1711, 12.2(?) on 2611.

All ideas gratefully received.

  • Cisco Employee,

Bruce,

I am in no way a voice expert but here are some thoughts.

Are the data and the voice in the same VLAN or different vlans?

Is the tunnel interface on the data network or Voice network?

Do you have the routing configured properly for the voice network to go through the tunnel interface?

Is the call being attempted to go through the tunnel interface?

Would an ethereal capture on both the sides at the same time for voice packets help you in identifying the problem.?

Thanks

Gilbert
