pix 501 basic setup

How can I configure a new cisco pix 501 without taking down the network? I have tried terminal emulation, but i dont know any commands. I have tried the standard configuration, but my url cant find the server.

I would suggest PDM for your device which is a GUI suppliment for CLI.Follow this link :

But remember that its just a "suppliment" not a "replacement", which means u can use PDM only for basic config. not for advanced config.
