Hi. I'm wondering if anybody can tell me if this is a software or hardware probelm.

I'm getting this error on one of my AP1230 event log. Everything looks good but the Radio0 does not come up. I have reset the hardware to factory default. I also put on the latest firmware 12.3.8JAE.

Hi,

The error typically indicates either a mismatched carrier set between the radio and AP programming OR faulty hardware. What do you see in the output of 'show ver' and 'show controller dot11radio 0'?

Thanks,

Ben

Thanks for your reply and help. I'm not sure what I should be looking for but all the hardware should be for America. Here are the outputs.

Neighbors in non-erp mode:

Hi,

This is the error I expected to see if the hardware (either AP or radio) was faulty. Since the AP and Radio are both -A, the error indicates that either the cookies are corrupt or the radio hardware itself is bad. You can try to reseat the radio, try this radio in another AP, or another radio in this AP. Maybe you can narrow it down to the AP or radio that way. However, I suspect you'll need the AP replaced. :-(

Sorry I couldn't help further, but let me know the outcome.

-Ben

I am having similar problems. I cant tell if the radio is working or if it is some other issue. I have about 800 1310 APS and some come back as faulty. So when I troubleshoot over half of them are related to configuration issues. The other , everything appears to be alright yet the radio wont associate.
