Hi David,

A Cisco Unity Express system can only support one language at a time, so if you install one of the alternate languages (U.S. English is the default), that language replaces the current language on the system.

Language customization in Cisco Unity Express affects the system AA and voice mail prompts. Language customization does not affect the CLI, GUI, custom prompts, user spoken names, or user greetings. The administrative interfaces (CLI and GUI) are always English only. Custom AA prompts, user spoken names, and user greetings can be in any language you like and are not controlled by the language customization of the system.

From this good CUE documentation;

You can download additional language pacs from;

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cue-232

Provided you are a registered user with CCO.As far as CUE licensing goes,you can install multiple Language pacs on your system, but only one can be active.Once all the language pacs have been downloaded, you will be given a choice (during the install) of which one you want to use.

Hope this helps!

What about posing this question specifically to the Auto Attendant. Couldn't one use the built-in script and associated .WAV files from two different languages and join them together using CUE Editor?

Then have someone record a Pick 1 for Language X Pick 2 for Language Y menu to front end it?

Some of that can be done. However, specifically the NameToUser step (the step used to do a dial-by-name lookup) cannot be completely customized in another language.

That said, when CUE 3.0 is released it will support two concurrent languages (most platforms, I don't think it'll be possible on the AIM, but I'm not 100% sure on that yet).

When is CUE 3.0 slated to be released? We would be looking to do this on the AIM so hopefully it will. Is it simply a capacity issue on the AIM?
