Solved: 2960 SW Password Recovery Question

Hi,

My colleague by mistake has entered the command: "enable secret level 5" on the 2960 SW. He did not enter any other words after "5", but he is not able to access the SW with blank password! I am just wondering what the password will be in this case and whether he needs to perfom password recovery from the ROM monitor mode.

Hi Haitham,

Can you try password as "level 5" and if that does not work go ahead with password recovery mentioned by Saurabh in his post.

if you have forgot or lost password, then you need to follow password recovery steps.

Sorry, but what do you mean by try password level 5? He tried to enter blank password but he could not get access?

Ankur meant to say, that you need to try the string "level 5" as the password.

Yes, it accepted the password as "level 5". But strange it accepted it as a password and not as a command!!
