is there a way to have vm delete after a predefined period of time, for instance 14 days?

customer wants to give user warning message once vm has been in user mailbox for the defined amount of time.

this is a unity 4.2, voice-mail only.

You can use Mailbox Manager or Message Store Manager to delete voicemail after a set period of time. Take a look at the link below and the links to these two tools.

Unity uses the mailbox size limits set in Exchange to play warning messages to users regarding mailbox size. There is not a way that I'm aware of to give a warning based on the age of messages.
