NM-1CE1T1-PRI with built-in CSU

Hi,

We are planning to order a NM-1CE1T1-PRI. According to the documentation we have found on CCO this Network Module comes with a built-in CSU.

The local telco delivers its ISDN-PRI service with a SDSL modem. Our question whether the built-in CSU will be compatible with that configuration or could that CSU function be disabled?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Tamas

hi

hmm SDSL?? really, I have never seen that, or could it be HDSL which is the most popular Pair Gain NIU protocol out there, along with many others. Lately I have seen PairGain to do T1s using only 1 pair (2 conductors) as a trend to save the telco the extra pair.

If yes, then the telco would run a short cord from the NI to a smartjack which is just another RJ45 and then you just need a partch cord to connect both RJ45 jacks -- from smart jack to the back of tne NM card.

Then the NM card is setup just like any other dsu/csu, timeslots, clock source, lbo gain, frame, encode, etc
