UCS: B-Series の System Event Log (SEL) について

UCS B-Series Server では、C-Series Rackmount Server と同様、古い System Event Log は削除されません。これは、該当のシステムがリブートを繰り返すなどの障害に陥った場合に、最初のトリガーを記録するためです。このことにより、SEL のログスペースが一杯になるとそれ以上の SEL を保存することが出来なくなってしまいます。なお、SEL は最大で 3008行まで保存することが出来ます。

従いまして運用監視等で SEL をご使用の際には、定期的に SEL をクリアする必要があります。

SELの登録数が既定の閾値に達しますと、以下のログがInformationレベルでFaultsに記録されます。

上限については、以下をご参照ください。M4までとM5以降では上限、表示ポリシーが大きく異なりますのでご注意ください。

M4までのSELは最大で 3008エントリまで保存することが出来ます。スペースが一杯になるとそれ以上の SEL を保存することが出来なくなってしまいます。古いSELが削除されないのは、該当のシステムがリブートを繰り返すなどの障害に陥った場合に、最初のトリガーを記録するためです。
M5からは保存されるSELの総容量が131068 エントリとなっており、そのうち、最新の 3008システムイベントのみが表示されます。SELの最大容量(131068 エントリ)に達すると、最も古いエントリが最新のエントリで上書きされます。

Explanation

This fault typically occurs because Cisco UCS Manager has detected that the system event log (SEL) on the server is almost full. The available capacity in the log is very low. This is an info-level fault and can be ignored if you do not want to clear the SEL at this time.

Recommended Action

If you see this fault, you can clear the SEL in Cisco UCS Manager if desired.

【クリア手順】

  (1) 該当Chassisをクリック

  (2) 該当ブレードサーバーをクリック

  (3) 右側画面で、SEL Logsタブをクリック

  (4) 下方に表示されるClearボタンをクリック→以下のダイアログボックスが現れるので、はい(Y)をクリック
