Core issue

The Common Services/Common Management Foundation (CMF) database, where job information is stored, could be corrupted.

Resolution

Information about the jobs are stored in the CMF database.

Reset the password for CMF database so Job and Resource Manager (JRM) takes the latest password. Re-initialize the CMF database only if the problem persists.

To reset the CMF database, perform this procedure:

  1. Stop CiscoWorks deamons.
  2. Go to the CSCOpx/bin directory.
  3. Run the dbpasswd.pl script, as shown:
    • For Windows:

      perl.exe dbpasswd.pl dsn=cmf

    • For Solaris:

      ./dbpasswd.pl dsn=cmf

Note: This is an interactive command. You are asked for the new password and are given an option to encrypt your passord. Your passwords can have letters and numerals (fore example, ascw123). No special characters are allowed.

  4. Start Ciscoworks deamons.

To re-initilize the CMF database, perform these steps:

  1. Stop CiscoWorks deamons.
  2. Go to the CSCOpx/bin directory.
  3. Run the dbRestoreOrig.pl script, as shown:
    • For Windows:
      perl.exe dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=cmf dmprefix=Cmf npwd=pwd
    • In Solaris:
      ./dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=cmf dmprefix=Cmf npwd=pwd
Note: "pwd" is your database password. By default, it is c2ky2k.
  4. Start CiscoWorks deamons.
