Cisco Office Manager

Cisco Office Manager a free desktop application to be distributed with high value built-in functionality, relevant to the SMB Office Administrator, who is not necessarily an IT person but still needs to perform some basic, routine tasks with the SBCS infrastructure.

Cisco Office Manager offers a very simple way to change basic configuration options on the UC 500, such as call forward, SNR, remote access (VPN) and more!
 
Cisco Office Manager is fully compatible with the Cisco Configuration Assistant (CCA) version 2.2.6 or above, and UC 500 Software Pack 8.0.4 or above.

Cisco Office Manager also includes a basic Video Viewer that allows you to automatically discover up to four Cisco PVC2300 or WVC2300 IP Cameras.

Cisco Office Manager offers a built-in online help (OLH) and the following Installation Guide, to help partners deploy and customize the application.

Limitations and Caveats

These limitations and caveats apply to the Cisco Office Manager:

  • The customer site must have a UC 500.
  • Cisco Office Manager must be installed and customized by a certified SBCS reseller.
  • Available documentation includes these installation notes and online help available within the application. No additional documentation is being offered at this time.
  • Only the US/English locale is supported.
  • Multisite installations are not supported.
  • Up to four (4) IP cameras are supported for basic video streaming only (no recording or motion detection).
  • When CCA is running, Office Manager must be closed, and vice versa. Concurrent access is not supported.

  • Cisco Unified  Communications 500 Series (all models), with UC 500 Software Pack 8.0.4  installed

  • Cisco WVC2300 Wireless-G Business Internet Video Camera - Audio,  Software Version 1.1.2.6
  • Cisco 7900 IP Phones Cisco
  • SPA 500 Series IP Phones
  • Cisco SPA 525G IP Phone
  • Cisco IP Communicator (softphone)
  • Cisco AP541N Wireless Access Points, Software Version 1.8.0 (wireless client connection status only)

System Requirements

The PC running Office Manager must meet these requirements:

  • Operating system: Windows XP service package 3, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
  • Web browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 6.0 or later (version 7.0 or later is recommended), or Firefox, version 3.5 or later
  • Adobe Flash version 10 or later

The office manager demo concept is nice but it does not help when the person doing the demo does not first maximize the the Office Manager application to full screen so we can clearly see the available options and what is being clicked on. It needs to be redone except if it really is not intended for anyone to clearly see the application in use.

Due to personal reasons, I found myself having to access the application through VNC during this demonstration, so I was limited with regards to the screen resolution and bandwidth. But you are absolutely right, this should have been done at maximun resolution. I will re-record the demonstration this week and will post the link here as soon as possible. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
