The part number (the model number) of the device will dictate if the device comes with a internal antenna or if it needs an external antenns. For example, AIR-BR1310G-A-K9 is a 1310G bridge which comes with an integrated antenna. AIR-BR1310G-A-K9-R requires an external antenna.

The AP1010 features dual integrated sector antennas. It's designed for offices and similar environments providing easy deployment and a predictable coverage pattern.

The AP1020 features both integrated sector antennas and an RP-TNC connector for external antennas. By selecting from a wide range of Cisco antennas, customers can achieve a variety of coverage shapes and sizes. Designed for more challenging RF environments, the AP1020 provides a high degree of installation flexibility.

The AP1030 features both integrated sector antennas and an RP-TNC connector for external antennas and an expanded set of software features designed for a variety of specific applications.

Cisco Aironet 1100 Series Access Point (AP) and Cisco Aironet 1130AG comes with  Integrated Antennas

Cisco Aironet 1200 Series AP comes with Dual RP-TNC connectors for external 2.4 GHz antennas (antennas sold separately), 2.4 GHz antennas are not included with the 802.11g radio module; they must be identified under a separate order line item and purchased separately. There are two versions of the 802.11a radio modules. The 802.11a RM21A radio module is designed with integrated antennas. Therefore, no antenna selection is required. The 802.11a RM22A radio module, however, has dual RP-TNC antenna connectors. Auxiliary 5 GHz antennas are not included and should be ordered separately.

Cisco Aironet 1230AG Series Access point, the 2.4 GHz antennas are not included with the 802.11g radio modules; they must be identified under a separate order line item and purchased separately. Similarly, the 802.11a radio module has dual RP-TNC antenna connectors, which require auxiliary 5 GHz antennas that are not included and must be ordered separately.

Cisco Aironet 1240AG Series comes with external antenas (Dual RP-TNC connectors for 2.4 GHz and 5GHz operation).

The Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Outdoor AP or bridge unit is available with either an integrated antenna, or with connectors for external antennas The high-gain integrated antenna is designed for easy installations of point-to-point links or non-root nodes of point-to-multipoint networks. The non-integrated antenna version provides professional installers with an RP-TNC connector that allows the deployment of omni-directional, sector, or high-gain dish antennas for specific application requirements.

The ordering guides for specific wireless devices have information on models that  come fitted with the antenna, as well as which need external antennas.
