From the Cisco CallManager Administration Configuration pages, the Partition and Calling Search Space field drop-down menu no longer responds to the single keystroke entry

Core Issue

In the Directory Number configuration page, when an Administrator enters a directory number (DN), presses Tab to advance to the Partition field, and enters a letter or a number corresponding to the first digit of a partition name, the Administrator is no longer allowed to cycle through partitions beginning with the typed digit.

The Administrator is now forced to:

  1. Click on the Elipses button.
  2. Wait for Java to bring up a new dialogue box.
  3. Type in the search criteria and wait for the results.
  4. Select Partition from the search results.
  5. Click OK (you cannot double-click on specific result).

What used to take less than a second now takes about 10-15 seconds. Also, instead of pressing a single key to select the partition, the user must now move from keyboard to mouse and back several times in order to perform the partition selection.

This behavior is noticed after installing Cisco CallManager 3.3(3).

Resolution

These symptoms are observed in Cisco CallManager 3.3(3) which is affected by Cisco bug ID CSCdy85560. Please refer to the workaround and Cisco CallManager versions in which it has been resolved in the bug details.

The List Box parameter has a default value of 250 items. If you increase it to a value greater than the total amount of partitions, the Elipses button disappears.

The Max List Box Items parameter determines the maximum number of items that are displayed in a List Box in the Cisco CallManager Administration user interface. If the number of items is more than this, only the default and current items appear in the List Box, and a lookup (...) button appears to the right of the List Box. Click the lookup button to find and choose the desired item. Increasing the value sends more items directly to the browser but results in slower page loads in a large system. Decreasing the value sends fewer items directly to the browser and results in a faster page load for a large system. This setting affects only fields where a large number of user-defined items are likely, such as Partition, Calling Search Space, and Voice Mail Profile.
