Core Issue
After removing drivers for the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) card, the drivers will not reload. This may be because of corrupted PCX500.sys and VXDX500.vxd files in the Windows directory.
Resolution
If you removed the drivers for the PCI card and cannot reload them, uninstall the PCI card and locate the PCX500.sys and VXDX500.vxd files in the C:\Windows\system directory. Delete both files, then reinstall the drivers.
If your PC freezes/hangs when you reboot the computer, there is an Interrupt Request (IRQ) conflict. Uninstall the PCI cards and put the Aironet client adapter in first or install the card in a different slot. For more information refer to the documentation that accompanies MS Windows.
