Hello,

 

We have Unity installed on UCS using ESXI 4.0.  When calling into auto attendant we are noticing poor call quality.  A lot of chopiness and garbled voice.  I have rebuilt the machine and still notice the issue.

 

I had TAC look into it, case got escalated to Developer level, and they said its a networking issue.

 

When pinging CUCM, which resides on the same UCS machine, we notice spikes.  Sometime over 1000 ms.

 

We are looking to upgrade the system to CUCM/Unity 10.5, client wants to know if this issue will follow before doing that.  So the next logical step would be to upgrade ESXI to 5.1.  This is the supported version mentioned in the compatibility matrix.

 

I want to know if upgrading directly to 5.5 would cause any issues.  If the issue is not noticed on with ESXI 5.5, they will upgrade their system to 10.5.

 

If anyone has any thoughts or has done something similar, please share.
