With the latest release of firmware for the WAP 561, 551, 371, 351 a new feature was added that would allow customers to upgrade the firmware for their clustered access points from the main access point.

The basic steps to accomplish this is:

1) Download the latest firmware from Cisco.com.

2) Go to the Upgrade Firmware in Cluster page within the Main Access Point.

3) Select the WAP's within the cluster that you are wanting to update. Note: It is best if all are on the same version of firmware.

4) Select transfer method.

5) Locate file that you saved.

6) Select Start-Upgrade. You can monitor the upgrade progress in the Firmware-transfer Status column.

As a last note, while on this tab within the GUI, if you click Help in the upper right hand corner you will be taken to the help page for this. There you can see some other detailed information about this process. I highly recommend, that before starting this process that you take a few seconds to go over this procedure.

This is a real simple process and a huge timesaver.
