I am writing this document to help people who faces issues with MGCP auto-registration with CUCM. During migration of the GWs or due to netwrok disconnects between the GW and CUCM, the GW fails to auto-register with CUCM. And when we manually configure the call agents, it register fine.
When it fails to register, the "sh ccm" out looks like this:
C028268-003T098E#sh ccm-manager
MGCP Domain Name: XXXX.domain.com
Priority Status Host

In order to correct this, we need to do the following in SEQUENCE:
- Remove the call-agent command
- Remove redundant hosts as well.
- Remove the using “ccm-manager config server <IP>” and “ccm-manager config” commands.
- Remove “ccm-manager mgcp” command
- Do “no mgcp”
- Go to call manager, save the gateway config, apply config and reset the GW.
- Go to GW, configure the following commands in SEQUENCE, using “ccm-manager config server <IP>” and “ccm-manager config” commands
- Configure “ccm-manager mgcp” command
- Do “mgcp” and check the registration.
